Police: Grand Larceny at Thornwood CVS

VALHALLA, N.Y. – Mount Pleasant Police Chief Louis Alagno reports police arrested a New York City man last week on grand larceny charges stemming from an incident at the CVS in the Town Center in Thornwood.

Cecil Williams, 35 ,of Brooklyn, was charged with grand larceny, a felony after police said Williams stole more than $1,000 worth of Rogaine from the Thornwood pharmacy.  Around 3:30 p.m. May 23, police said workers at the CVS reported Williams fled the store on foot with a large amount of Rogaine hair products. Police said they found Williams later that same evening hiding in the backyard of a resident’s home in Briarcliff Manor. Williams is being held in the Westchester County Jail on $5,000 bail.  He is scheduled to appear in Mount Pleasant Town Court Thursday.

Memorial Day Mischief:  Mount Pleasant police report multiple residents reported Tuesday their mailboxes were damaged during the overnight hours. Around 1:45 a.m., police said a resident on Lake Shore Drive in Pleasantville reported an unknown mailbox was removed from the ground and placed on their front steps. Police said the mailbox was removed from a house also on Lake Shore Drive. Around 6:30 a.m., police said a resident on Stevens Drive in Pleasantville reported their mailbox was damaged during the overnight hours. Around 9 a.m., police said a resident on Washburn Road in Chappaqua reported their mailbox was damaged during the overnight hours. No arrests have been made and the incidents are being investigated.

Home Depot Larceny:  Mount Pleasant police report they arrested 46-year-old Nancy Axelrod of Crompond on charges of petit larceny Friday. Police said Axelrod stole less than $1,000 in cash by making fraudulent charges while she was an employee of the Home Depot in Hawthorne.

Car Camera Stolen: Around noon Sunday, police said a Pleasantville man reported a back-up camera installed on the back of his 2010 Infinity was stolen while it was parked in the Town Center parking lot in Thornwood. No arrest has been made and the incident is being investigated.
