Nonna and Smith to Meet in Televised Debate

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – District-3 County Legislator candidates John Nonna and Michael Smith will square off Wednesday night in a televised debate.  

The event is the last time that incumbent Nonna (Democrat, Working Families and Independence) and challenger Smith (Republican and Conservative) will meet each other in a public forum before Tuesday’s election.  It will be filmed at Pleasantville Community Television’s studio  with a live feed televised on Cablevision channel 76 and Verizon channel 36.  Residents can also view the event on PCTV’s website, www.pctv76.org.  No public audience will be allowed in the studio.

Some of the topics to be discussed Wednesday evening are taxes, flooding, and the affordable housing settlement among many others.  Previously, the two candidates met in a public debate at the Mount Pleasant Community Center sponsored by the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club.

The debate is set to begin at 7 p.m. The Examiner News Editor-In-Chief Martin Wilbur will moderate the debate and the event is sponsored by the The Examiner News and PCTV. District 3 encompasses Mount Pleasant, Pleasantville, and Sleepy Hollow, and parts of Greenburgh, and North Castle and Briarcliff Manor.
