What's Happening This Weekend In Mount Pleasant

THORNWOOD, N.Y. – Here is a list of events that are set to take place this weekend around Mount Pleasant.

Friday, Sept. 21

Toddler Time: 10:15 a.m.  The Mount Pleasant Public Library in Pleasantville will host a free story time for toddlers.  350 Bedford Road, Pleasantville.

Crossword Puzzle Tournament: 7:30 p.m. Pleasantville resident and New York Times Crossword Puzzle Editor Will Shortz will host the county’s annual crossword puzzle tournament at the Westchester Table Tennis Center.  All proceeds will benefit Pleasantville Fund for Learning. Entry fees are $30 for an individual and $45 for a pair. 

Saturday, Sept. 22

Pleasantville Farmers Market: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Purchase various fresh fruits, vegetables and other goods at the Pleasantville Farmers Market held at the Memorial Plaza parking lot.  Memorial Plaza, Pleasantville.

9/11 Concert and Film: 4 p.m.  Pleasantville resident Andrea Garbarini will show her documentary “From the Ground Up” that showcases the lives of widows following the attacks of Sept. 11.  A concert from the a capella group Sing We Enchanted will follow the screening. 400 Bedford Road, Pleasantville.

Sunday, Sept. 23

Wild Food and Ecology Tour: 1 p.m.  Take a tour of the Stone Barns Center with naturalist Steve Brill in search of edible wild food on the center’s grounds.  Admission is $25.
