Truck Goes Up In Flames On Busy Route 1 In Mamaroneck: Video Firefighters have released details about a truck fire that filled a busy main route in Westchester with smoke. The incident happened on Wednesday, Jan. 24, when a truck caught on fire on Boston Post Road (Route 1) at Hommocks Road in Mamaroneck, according to the town's fire department.  Luckily, the blaze was quickly put out thanks to the help of a mutual aid engine from the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department.  Firefighters later released a video of the fire on social media. One Person Found Dead After House Fire Breaks Out In Mamaroneck Updated story: Victim Of Fatal Westchester House Fire Was A Popular Teacher, Former HS Athlete One person was killed during a house fire in Westchester. The blaze broke out at around noon, Sunday, Nov. 7 in the basement at 518 Walnut St., in the Village of Mamaroneck. According to Det Sgt Plinio Trujillo, of the Village of Mamaroneck Police, officers responded along with the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department, whose members quickly extinguished the fire.  Upon a search of the residence, a man was found dead at the location, Trujillo said.
