Retired Police Officer Who Worked In Westchester Dies: 'Served With Distinction' A police department in Westchester has announced the death of one of its retired members.  The death of retired Mount Vernon Police Officer Rocky Rosado was announced by the department on Friday, Feb. 2.  In a social media post memorializing Rosado, the department wrote that he "served with distinction" from 1983 to 2011.  The department also added that his family would hold private services in honor of him.  His age was not released by police.

Senior Sargeant Christopher Filli, age 50, died while on duty with the Hudson Police Department on Friday, Jan. 12 in Columbia County, his colleagues announced. Filli, who was from the city of Hudson, suffered a medical emergency while on his shift that day. Further details about the incident have not been released. Former Detective Sergeant From Westchester Dies: 'Always There To Help' A former detective sergeant from Northern Westchester who was dedicated to helping people any way he could has died.  Joseph Cindrich of Somers died on Thursday, March 16 at the age of 69, according to his obituary.  Born in 1953, Cindrich began his policing career with the Rye Police Department in 1978, serving there for two years before then joining the New Castle Police Department in 1980.  There, he stayed for nearly 20 years before retiring in 1998. Cindrich spent most of his career as a Detective Sergeant, his obituary said.  Friends and family remember …

Suspect In Custody After Apparent Vandalism Of BLM Mural In Mamaroneck One suspect is in custody after a Black Lives Matter mural painted last fall in Westchester was vandalized, authorities announced. For the second time since it was painted in October, a mural that was created on Van Ranst Place near Columbus Park in Mamaroneck was vandalized, this time by throwing a can of paint on it before speeding away in a car. The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 12.
