Emergency responders on Long Island rushed to the scene of the blaze in North Hills at about 4 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, the Nassau County Police Department previously reported. Monthslong Palmer Road Bridge Closure Set To Start This story has been updated. There will be a lane closure on the Palmer Road Bridge for more than a month in Yonkers as Westchester County performs work on the roadway. Yonkers Councilman Mike Breen said that he was notified on Friday, April 5, that crews would be performing work on the westbound lanes on the bridge between Paxton Avenue and Parkview Avenue. The section of Palmer Road is expected to be closed beginning on Wednesday, April 10, through Sunday, June 30, as they make repairs.
