Christmas Tree From Hudson Valley To Be Lit Tonight At Rockefeller Center
The day has finally arrived -- the annual lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas tree -- and for the second year in a row, one that hails from the Hudson Valley.
The tree, which stands 77-feet tall and comes from the home of Carol Schultz of Florida, in Orange County, will burst into light during an entertainment-filled event running from 7 to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4.
The Norway spruce, which was planted in 1958, is decked out with 50,000 multi-colored LED lights and will be topped with a Swarovski star next week.

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Will Once Again Come From Hudson Valley

For the second time in as many years, the famous Rockefeller Christmas tree is coming from the Hudson Valley.
The center announced on Instagram on Monday, Oct. 21, that this year's twinkling giant of a tree is a Norway spruce that hails from the Village of Florida in Orange County.
Although they haven't released the details on the tree's height and owners, the center did say the tree will be cut down on Thursday, Nov. 7, and will arrive by truck at Rockefeller Center on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Westchester Resident Celebrates 107th Birthday
Jean Camillo, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, celebrated her 107th birthday on Thursday, Aug. 16 with family and friends at The Enclave at Port Chester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
"She had a wonderful time,''' said her son, Dr. Joseph Camillo of Rye Brook, a retired dentist, who brought the birthday cake.
Camillo said his mother grew up with eight siblings in a wealthy household. Her father, an Italian immigrant who used to walk to Stamford, CT, from Port Chester as a shoe-shine boy, ultimately owned a successful construction company with horse-drawn wagons.
