A young woman killed in a horrific Connecticut crash earlier this week was the first child and only daughter of a former NBA player. Tiara Wheeler was 24 years old. Her father, Tyson Wheeler, played for the University of Rhode Island men's basketball team as point guard from 1994 to 1998 when the Rams advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight before being drafted by the Toronto Raptors. Police are searching for suspects who damaged a park in Westchester that was already under renovation by driving all-terrain vehicles and dirt bikes over a field, leaving a number of tread marks. The incident happened over Memorial Day weekend at Redmond Park in Yonkers on Cook Avenue, Yonkers Police reported on Tuesday, May 30. 12 Arrested After Police Seize Illegal ATVs, Bikes In Springfield
Police in Western Massachusetts seized 14 off-highway vehicles and arrested 12 people during a special detail to remove illegal vehicles from the roadways. During the multi-day detail in Springfield, officers seized the vehicles which included nine dirt bikes, two unregistered motorcycles, and three ATVs, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police.
