Learn Qigong For Empowerment At South Norwalk Library NORWALK, Conn. -- Learn Qigong for empowerment and joy at a two-day workshop at the South Norwalk Branch Library on Jan. 23 and 30. Magaly Blakz returns with this two workshops that include group healing sessions. Wilton Artist With ALS Showcases Art At Norwalk Library NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Public Library will hold an artist reception on Sunday, Jan. 24 for Wilton artist Karen Condron, who has had her art work featured in the library for the month of January. Condron continues to paint and maintain an active lifestyle despite having been diagnosed with Bulbar-Onset ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) in 2013. Now unable to speak, Karen has embraced typing and uses technology like Boogie Board eWriter and various IPad apps, to enable her to communicate effectively. Assembly Members Organize Opposition To STAR Program Changes ALBANY, N.Y. -- State Assembly members Ken Zebrowski and Sandy Galef, chair of the Assembly Committee on Real Property Taxation, announced their opposition to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s STAR program proposals which would freeze tax relief growth and switch the program to an income tax credit for new homeowners. Man Jumps From Roof Of Three-Story Building In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A man was badly injured after jumping from the roof of a three-story apartment building in Bridgeport on Wednesday afternoon, the Connecticut Post said. Witnesses said the man had threatened to jump from the roof of the Junco 6 Supermarket earlier, Connecticut Post said. Trumbull Police Chief Has Successful First Year On Job TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Trumbull Police Chief Michael Lombardo has had a successful first year on the job, receiving an outstanding evaluation, reported the Trumbull Times. Lombardo became Trumbull’s chief of police after being a unanimous choice by the the Trumbull Police Commission, said Trumbull Times. Lombardo's accomplishments in his first year include NARCAN usage by patrolmen for heroin overdose cases, renovations to the dispatch, records and communication center, new uniforms for officers and creating a police bicycle patrol unit.
