MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- The Village and Town of Mamaroneck have lifted their evacuation orders effective Monday, but both remain in a state of emergency.
The village's state of emergency, which went into effect Aug. 26 at 2 p.m., will be lifted Monday at midnight, according to their website. The town has yet to set a time for lifting their state of emergency, which also went into effect Aug. 26 at 2 p.m., but town adminstrator Stephen Altieri said he expects it to remain in effect until later this week.
Larchmont Mayor Josh Mandell could not be reached for comment.
On Monday, two Con Edison crews are working in the town, where they estimate 600 homes lost power as of 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Mayor Norman Rosenblum estimated 3,300 village residents lost power Sunday. Both Rosenblum and Altieri estimate power won't be restored until Sept. 2.
If you have not reported a power outage, call 1-800-77-CON-ED, or report your outage on their website.
Con Edison crews will also be distributing dry ice to customers at the Mamaroneck Train Station between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Currently, village and town crews are clearing roads that are still closed. In the town, Altieri said the following roads are still closed due to downed trees and wires:
Fenimore Road from Fenbrook to Durham Pryor Manor is flooded from Red Bridge to the bottom of Dillon Road Forest Avenue at Vine--downed branches and wires 60 Vine Street at Glen Eagles. Spruce Road Myrtle Boulevard between Preston Avenue and Weaver Street---downed tree Edgewood Avenue between Emerson and Judson Hommocks Road
Residents can use their leaf-blowers without fear of a summons, as the village has suspended leaf blower restrictions until Sept. 3 at 6 p.m.
The village will pickup flood-destroyed personal property over the next few weeks. All garbage and debris should be dry, either bagged or bundled and left at the curb. Hazardous liquids or materials of any kind will not be picked up by the village.
The village will not be providing pump out services due to limited personnel.
