Two years after the 2007 floods, the Corps of Engineers began to revise its plan for the area. If the plan -- released last week -- is implemented, it could cost more than $70 million, and take several years to implement, said Lohud.com.
If undertaken, the plan would add almost two miles of channel modifications intended to widen, deepen and lengthen the Sheldrake and Mamaroneck rivers; create retaining walls; remove or replace five bridges; among other items.
The Corps will present a public presentation on the report on Thursday, Feb. 25, and public comments are welcome through March, added Lohud.com.
