Dentist In Hudson Valley Admits To Fraudulently Obtaining Oxycodone For Her Own Use
A dentist from the Hudson Valley has pleaded guilty to obtaining oxycodone for her own use.
Ulster County resident Vivian Letizia, age 63, of Stone Ridge, made the plea on Friday, April 15, according to US Attorney Carla Freedman.
In pleading guilty, Letizia admitted that, in December 2019, she fraudulently submitted a prescription for oxycodone for one of her dentistry patients using that patient’s name and date of birth, the US Attorney's Office said.
Letizia then obtained the oxycodone from a pharmacy in Woodstock, for her own consumption. At the time Letizia submitted the prescription …
These Hudson Valley Counties Were Most Popular Among NYCers Who Moved In 2021, Survey Reveals
The Hudson Valley was the most popular destination among New York City residents who moved last year, according to a brand-new report.
The findings come from NYC-based Piece of Cake Moving and Storage's 35,000 moves it performed in 2021.
"The Upper Hudson Valley was the hottest region in the tristate area," the report said, noting that trend was especially evident per percentage by population in Ulster, Dutchess, Orange, and Rockland counties.

Here's How Many Are Still Without Power In Hudson Valley County Hit Hardest By Storm
Four days after a wintry storm rolled through the region, hundreds in the Hudson Valley are still without power.
In Ulster County, the area hit hardest by the storm, more than 1,900 Central Hudson customers were still reporting outages late Tuesday morning, Feb. 8, while there were 54 in Dutchess also left in the dark, according to the utility company.

Hundreds in the Hudson Valley are now without power as high winds whip through the area.
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. Monday, March 29.

As of around 10 a.m. on Monday, Con Edison was still reporting nine active outages that were impacting customers in Bedford, Cortlandt, Greenburgh, Mount Vernon, New Castle, Scarsdale, and Yonkers.

Two off-duty NYPD officers from Long Island, one of whom was a groom on his wedding night, were killed when their rented Maserati struck a tree in the Hudson Valley over the weekend.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night, state police troopers from Kingston were dispatched to Oliveria Road in Shandaken, just west of Woodstock, where there was a report of a one-vehicle crash in the area.
