Rare Possible Bobcat Sighting Reported On Long Island Police are searching for what could be a bobcat after receiving a report of a wild cat on Long Island. The sighting took place in Suffolk County in the area of Boulevard Avenue in West Islip around 10:40 a.m., Tuesday, July 26. Police responded to the area and the animal was not located, said the Suffolk County Police. Ducklings Rescued From Drain In Northern Westchester Westchester County Police came to the rescue of a pair of ducks stuck in a manhole in Mount Kisco. The right man was on patrol at the right time late last month, as Westchester County Police Officer Scott Forsythe - who happens to own ducks and chickens at his home - responded to a call on Main Street, where there were two ducklings trapped in a storm drain. Grin And Bear It: Orphaned Cub Rescued In Hudson Valley Sometimes, it takes a village. Police in the area helped track down a female bear cub who had gotten separated from her mother over the weekend. On Friday, June 15, members of the Warwick Police Department issued an assist to the New York State Environmental Police in tracking and taking an orphaned bear cub into custody. Following the joint effort, officers were able to corral the cub, who has been safely transported to an Orange County wildlife rehabilitation facility.
