Area Man Charged With Using Knife During Domestic Incident, Police Say A man from the region was arrested for allegedly threatening a woman with a knife during a domestic violence incident. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 6:50 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 29 in Monticello. Anthony Ronald Torre, age 30, of Monticello was arrested by Monticello Police after police responded to the Sleepy Hollow apartment complex for a dispute that involved a Kabar-style knife, said Lt. Hudson Valley Man Nabbed For 3 Commercial Burglaries, Arrested For Shoplifting, Police Say A man from the region who had been nabbed for three alleged commercial burglaries was arrested again for shoplifting at a Walmart store. Sullivan County resident Justus McMoore, age 37, of Monticello, was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 22 in the town of Thompson after a brief foot chase. According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty,  McMoore was spotted by security staff in Walmart allegedly shoplifting $161 dollars worth of merchandise.  When he was confronted by security, McMoore ran out of the store and headed south on Route 42, police said. Sullivan County resident Justus L. McMoore, age 37 of Monticello, was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 8, according to Monticello PD Lt. Mark Johnstone. Authorities in Sullivan County were called just before 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, with reports of an assault and attempted robbery at a home in Bethel, located on Mohawk Trail. State Police determined that the 38-year-old suspect, Daniel Desseauve, of Highland in Ulster County, approached the home carrying a pickaxe and pushed the front door open. Man Accused Of Brutally Beating Puppy To Death In Region A man has been accused of brutally beating a puppy, leading to its death in the region. Police in Sullivan County arrested Miguel Colon, age 34, of the Village of Liberty, after an investigation into the death of the 4-month-old pit bull.  Liberty Police Department officers began investigating after receiving a report that the puppy had been killed by an individual in the village, police said.  The investigation led officers to a location on Lake Street in the Village of Liberty where they were able to recover the remains of the dog which had been buried in a shallow grave, …

Man Passed Out In Area Walgreen's Parking Lot In Region Nabbed For DWI/Drugs, Police Say An area man was charged with DWI/drugs after he was allegedly found passed out in the middle of a Walgreen parking in his vehicle with the motor running. Sullivan County resident Jason Roberts, age 32, of Forestburgh, was arrested on Friday, Oct. 22, after Monticello Police received a call about a suspicious vehicle in the Walgreen's parking lot.  According to Lt. Woman Stole More Than $7K at Resorts World Catskills, Police Say A woman was arrested for stealing more than $7,000 from a guest at the Resorts World Catskills Casino, according to New York State Police. Andrea Mercer, 33, of the Bronx, was charged with grand larceny Wednesday following an investigation into the theft of the money, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Mercer, a guest at the casino herself, entered the room of another guest at the casino and stole more than $7,000 from that individual, Nevel said. Mercer was arraigned remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on $7,500 cash bail.
