New Update: Math Coach From Danbury Who Allegedly Used Chokehold On Student Resigns
A math coach who allegedly used a chokehold on an elementary student until they were unconscious in Fairfield County has resigned from her job.
The incident took place in Norwalk on Friday, Feb. 24 at Brookside Elementary School.
Following an investigation, Stefanie Sanabria, age 50, of Danbury, was arrested on a warrant at her home, said Deputy Chief Terrence Blake, of the Norwalk Police.
She resigned from the school on the same day, said Emily Morgan, spokeswoman for the Norwalk School District.

Man Indicted For Violent Attack At Jail In Hudson Valley
A Rockland County man has been indicted for attempted murder stemming from a violent attack on a female corrections officer at the Rockland County Jail.
Israel Gourion, age 32, of Wesley Hills, was indicted on Tuesday, Feb. 23, on charges of attempted murder, assault, and strangulation, said Chief of the Rockland County Detectives Peter Walker.
Gourion was an inmate of the jail at the time of the attack. The case is being prosecuted by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Mike Dugandzic.

A Westchester County man is facing multiple counts of rape and other charges for an alleged sexual assault of a woman in White Plains last month.
Greenburgh resident Sidney Crockett, 42, was arraigned on Monday, Nov. 4, and charged in a 15-count indictment that includes two counts of rape, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., announced.
