$1.3 Million Yacht Crushed By Runaway Barge In Stamford Harbor A $1.3 million yacht docked for maintenance was crushed by a runaway barge that was being tugged to a business in Stamford Harbor. Capt. Eric Knott, the state-appointed harbormaster, said the accident took place early Monday morning when one of two barges being towed drifted away while the driver was attempting to dock and slammed into the 50-foot yacht. The custom-built yacht, the Sea Jay, is a year-old catamaran that was being prepped at the Hinckley boatyard in Stamford for a trip across the Pacific Ocean.
