A local woman has been accused of driving under the influence after she was stopped for driving erratically and without lights in Fairfield County, police said. Tonya Kathleen Gwynn, age 76, was arrested in New Canaan on Sunday, July 23 when an officer spotted her driving on South Avenue near Farm Road with no lights and operating erratically, said police. A Fairfield County man was injured after being struck by a police vehicle in front of a local department's headquarters. The incident took place in New Canaan around 9 p.m., Monday, June 27 in front of the New Canaan Police Department at 156 South Ave. The New Canaan Police vehicle was exiting the parking lot of 156 South Ave., to turn right onto South Avenue to head north, said Lt. 12-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle On Way To School In New Canaan
A 12-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while on his way to school in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 8:17 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, at the intersection of South Avenue and Farm Road in New Canaan, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro. According to Ferraro, the boy, a 12-year-old boy, a student at Saxe Middle School, suffered minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Norwalk Hospital ER by NC EMS for treatment and further evaluation of his injuries. A man from Westchester has been charged after police say he was found asleep in his car and under the influence at a gas station in New Canaan. New Canaan Police say they observed a motorist traveling northbound on South Avenue on Saturday, May 11 around 2:30 a.m. The vehicle allegedly swerved toward the police cruiser as it passed. An area man was arrested after he allegedly became abusive with another customer at a New Canaan restaurant. Grant Dimille, 58, of New Canaan, was arrested on Thursday, April 18, after New Canaan Police responded to a call of a dispute between two customers at the Press Burger on South Avenue, said New Canaan Police Lt.
