Police Officer In Hudson Valley Dies In Off-Duty Snowmobile Crash Upstate A police officer from the Hudson Valley died in an off-duty snowmobile crash in upstate New York. Fairfield County Man Dies In Maine Snowmobile Accident A Fairfield County man was killed in a snowmobile crash in Maine. William Arnow, age 33, of Stamford, was killed around 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, in a fatal crash in which officials said speed and alcohol appear to be factors, said Mark Latti, with the Maine Warden Service. According to Latti, Arnow was traveling on a 2019 Ski-Doo MXZ on ITS trail 89 in Dallas Plantation heading towards Rangeley when he crashed head-on into a powerline pole located off the side of the trail.  Arnow and a friend were out for a quick ride on separate snowmobiles and had just turned around and we…

ID Released For Man Killed On Snowmobile In Area A man killed during a snowmobile crash in the area has been identified by New York State Police. David White, 34, of Campbell Hall, was killed at 10:20 a.m., Monday, Dec. 2, after crashing a snowmobile into a tree on Quarry Road in Campbell Hall in Orange County, said Trooper Steven Nevel. When police arrived on the scene they found White near the sled, Nevel said. An investigation revealed that White lost control of the snowmobile and struck a tree and was ejected.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Nevel said White was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
