ShopRite To Close Hudson Valley Store After more than 30 years of serving Hudson Valley grocery shoppers, a popular ShopRite store will close by the end of next year. The 55,500-square-foot store, located in Ulster County in Ellenville, at 1 ShopRite Boulevard off Route 209, was opened in 1993 by Wakefern Food Corporation in New Jersey.  It is the only major grocery store in the village. Man Who Stepped Out Of Vehicle After Crash With Deer Struck, Killed By SUV In Hudson Valley A 70-year-old man was hit and killed by an SUV  when he stepped out of a vehicle to inspect the damage after hitting a deer. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 6:40 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21 in the town of Mamakating, said Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police. According to Nevel, troopers responded to Route 209 for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.  A preliminary investigation revealed that Orange County resident James F. NYC Resident Accused Of Starting Wildfire In Region A New York City resident allegedly violated the statewide brush burn ban which caused a wildland fire in the region.  On Tuesday, March 22 at 4:15 p.m., state forest rangers responded to an open burn in Sullivan County off Route 209 in the town of Mamakating, said the state Department of Environmental Conservation. A 41-year-old Manhattan resident was burning brush and had left the fire unattended, DEC officials said. Due to high winds and dry conditions, the fire spread to approximately 2.5 acres of land. Officer-Involved Shooting Leaves Hudson Valley Man Injured, State Police Say A Hudson Valley man who fired at police was shot in the neck by officers after being located in a wooded area, according to authorities. The shooting took place at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, when New York State Police responded to a domestic incident in Orange County in the town of Deerpark. State Police Issue Alert For Woman Wanted In Hudson Valley An alert has been issued by New York State Police as they attempt to locate a wanted woman who was busted with drugs during a traffic stop in Ulster County. Ebony Barber, 38, of Gwynn Oak, Maryland, is wanted after being arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance following a stop on Route 209 in the Town of Ulster in March 2017. Barber was also cited for possession of marijuana and for speeding. According to police, Barber was found to be in possession of ecstasy and marijuana during the traffic stop, and she was taken into custody without inciden…
