Man Dies After Rescuing Grandchildren In Area House Fire, Police Say An area grandfather died after saving his two grandchildren from a fire that destroyed a Hudson Valley home. The fire broke out in Putnam County around 10 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, at a home on Scarsdale Road in Lake Carmel, a hamlet in the town of Kent. Trapped Horse Rescued By Fire Department In Area A local fire department was able to rescue a 31-year-old horse after he became stuck between a rock and a fence in the Hudson Valley. ID Released For Man Killed In Crash That Shut Down I-84 For More Than 10 Hours The identity of the man killed in an early morning crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer and a car that shut down a stretch of I-84 for more than 10 hours on Monday has been released. The closure occurred on eastbound I-84 at Exit 17 (Ludingtonville Road/Route 43) in Kent.
