This Black Bear Is Everywhere: Multiple Sightings Reported In Northern Westchester A black bear seems to be everywhere in North Salem and Purdys these days from the golf course to an elementary school and a resident's backyard. North Salem Police Chief Thomas Howley said the sightings began on Sunday, May 26, when a black bear was seen at the PQ Golf Club off Bloomer Road. Woman Threw Hatchet In North Salem Domestic Dispute, Police Say A 41-year-old Fairfield County woman is behind bars after New York State Police say she threw a hatchet at a male victim and rammed his vehicle during a domestic dispute in Northern Westchester.
