A Northern Westchester man has been accused of driving drunk in Fairfield County after police say he crossed the double-yellow line several times. At about 9 p.m. Saturday, April 6, an officer on routine patrol in New Canaan observed the vehicle traveling north on New Norwalk Road. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified Manuel Allende, age 65, of South Salem, as the operator. A Northern Westchester man was charged after police said he was found in possession of cocaine during a traffic stop in Connecticut. An officer in Fairfield County pulled a vehicle over on New Norwalk Road in New Canaan after seeing that the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22, according to the New Canaan Police Department. A man whose license was suspended is accused of resisting arrest after a traffic stop in Fairfield County, according to police. An officer on patrol saw a vehicle that wasn't displaying a valid registration plate traveling in New Canaan on New Norwalk Road at about 4:10 p.m. on Friday, April 8, according to authorities. A 30-year-old man was arrested for burglarizing vehicles in Fairfield County, as well as stealing a BMW and later crashing it. A man was busted for driving with an open can of beer in his vehicle in New Canaan. Jose Merino-Mejia, 40, of Norwalk, was arrested by New Canaan police after they received a report of a disabled vehicle on New Norwalk Road and Lakeview Road, police said.
