Lane Closure To Affect Section Of Roadway In Northern Westchester Commuters are being warned that an upcoming lane closure is planned for a section of a busy road in Northern Westchester.  On Thursday, Nov. 3, and Friday, Nov. 4 between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., one lane of US Route 9 northbound will close in Peekskill between Welcher Avenue and Louisa Street, according to the New York Department of Transportation.  The lane closure is to allow for construction work on the roadway, officials said.

Peekskill resident Joaquin Salazar, 18, was killed around 9 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 28, following a fight among a group of people at China Pier on Louisa Street, Peekskill Police Chief Don Halmy said. 18-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed During Incident In Northern Westchester An investigation is underway after an 18-year-old was fatally stabbed during an incident in Northern Westchester. On Saturday, Nov. 28 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Peekskill Police officers responded to the New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital for a report of at least two males who arrived there with apparent stab wounds to the torso area.  Potential witnesses at the hospital were interviewed and it was learned that a short time earlier a group of people had gathered together in the parking lot at China Pier on Louisa Street, Peekskill Police Chief Don Halmy said.
