Police Officers Awarded Medal For Saving Northern Westchester Woman's Life
Two police officers have been presented an award for saving the life of a Northern Westchester woman. Sgt. Michael Ritell and Police Officer Nicholas Mirko of the Westchester County Police Department were given the award for resuscitating a Mount Kisco woman when she suffered a medical emergency, according to an announcement by the police department on Saturday, Nov. 5. On Nov. 10, 2021, Ritell and Mirko responded to a residence in Mount Kisco on Grove Street when they found the unresponsive woman on a back porch, slumped over and not breathing, according to police. …

New Canaan Police Officers Honored For Saving Person Who Was Not Breathing
Two New Canaan officers are being recognized for recently saving a person who was having difficulty breathing and had lost consciousness. According to New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski, Sgt. Aaron LaTourette and Officer Matthew Blank arrived at the scene within two minutes of receiving the call. Once on the scene, the two quickly determined that the patient was not breathing and had no pulse. The officers deployed an automatic external defibrillator, which administered a shock. Hero Peekskill DPW Employee Honored By Police
Peekskill Police Department gave "a big shout out" this week to Shawn Dasecke, a city Department of Public Works employee who was honored at the Common Council meeting. Dasecke observed a male sitting in a car who appeared to be in distress. Acting immediately, Dasecke realized the man was choking, removed him from the vehicle and performed the Heimlich Manuever.
