String Of Thefts From Vehicles Reported At Parks In Fairfield County
Police are searching for suspects after five vehicles had items stolen at two parks in Fairfield County. The incidents took place in New Canaan beginning around 12:30 p.m., Sunday, July 24 at Irwin and Waveny parks. According to New Canaan Police, the chain of incidents began when a Subaru Forester was reported forcibly entered around 12:30 p.m. at Irwin Park. New Canaan Police Officer Suspended Following Arrest
A police officer in Fairfield County charged with illegally possessing explosives and an assault weapon has been placed on leave. David Rivera of the New Canaan PD was charged on Thursday, April 28, in his hometown of Stratford after quantities of high explosives were found improperly stored in his home, said Joseph T. Corradino, Fairfield State's Attorney. Numerous Vehicles Burglarized While In New Canaan Parking Lots, Police Say
Police are once again reminding residents to lock their vehicles and remove their key fobs after reports of numerous vehicle larcenies in parking lots in Fairfield County. According to New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski said that since January there have been 25 vehicles stolen and 30 thefts from vehicles in New Canaan. One of those thefts took place on Friday, Aug. 6, when the owner of a Ford Escape reported a pocketbook was taken from the center console of her vehicle which was left unlocked. Police are reminding residents once again to lock their vehicles and remove valuables after three vehicles were burglarized in Fairfield County. The incidents took place on Thursday, March, 18 in New Canaan, said New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski. The first incident was reported around 9:06 a.m. on March 18, when police responded to a residence on White Oak Shade Lane on a report of two vehicles entered. Alert Issued For Suspect Wanted For Larceny At Business In New Canaan
This story has been updated. Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help identifying a suspect wanted in connections with larceny. The New Canaan Polie are seeking information related to the suspect pictured, said Chief Leon Krolikowski. Krolikowski said the individual is a larceny suspect who targeted a New Canaan business. An expensive purse and other items were taken from a Lexus at a Fairfield County park after thieves smash the vehicle's window. A New Canaan woman was charged with three felonies after allegedly neglecting 12 dogs, three of which died from a canine virus easily prevented by a vaccine. Following a home burglary in New Canaan in which the family was away on vacation, police are asking residents to be sure and secure their residences. The burglary was discovered around 10:51 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at a home on Route 106 (Silvermine Road) when the family returned from vacation and found they had been the target of thieves, said New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski. A member of the New Canaan Police Department was forced to fatally shoot a dog who posed a potential threat to local residents and would not stop attacking a neighbor's canine.
