South Salem's Werner Strobel, 88, Loved Landscaping, Golf, And Flying His Cesna Werner Alois Strobel, 88 years old of South Salem, passed  away on Wednesday June 14, 2023 in the loving presence of his wife and daughter.  A celebration of life will be held at North Salem Golf Club on July 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone who would like to tell a story about Werner is more than welcome to attend.  Werner was born in Mannheim, Germany on November 30, 1934 to Joseph and Erna Strobel. She was a courageous fighter who far outlived her diagnosis. Formerly of New Canaan, CT, Toni was born September 28, 1959 in Settefrati, Italy. Stamford Native, Longtime New Canaan Firefighter Angelo Gesualdi Dies At 75 Angelo John Gesualdi a lifetime resident of New Canaan and longtime firefighter, died Saturday of a heart attack with his family by his side.  He was 75. Gesualdi was born on May 16, 1943, in Stamford to the late Vito and Vera Coco Gesualdi. He was a firefighter with the New Canaan Fire Department for 34 years and was ranked as a Captain of the department. During his retirement, Gesualdi loved to start his mornings with his firehouse family and greeting each day “uptown,” seeing friends and keeping up with the community.
