The owners of Wagner’s Fine Luggage and Gifts in Fairfield County, located in the High Ridge Shopping Center in Stamford, are retiring. Fires broke out in two homes within a few miles of each other overnight in Fairfield County with one resulting in an injured resident. The first of the blazes began around 1:18 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, when neighbors called 9-1-1 reporting a large fire in the area of Blackwood Lane in the Turn of River area of Stamford. Woman Seriously Injured After Being Run Over By Her Own SUV In Stamford
An investigation is underway after a local woman was seriously injured when her SUV rolled over her in a busy Stamford parking lot. The initial investigation revealed that Anne Wade, a 54-year-old Stamford resident, was entering her vehicle, which was parked in the lot at 15 High Ridge Rd., Stamford Police said. According to witnesses, Wade was having problems releasing her emergency brake before she exited her vehicle and was then somehow able to get the brake released, according to police. Officers Respond Quickly, Save Life Of Woman After High Ridge Road 911 Call
Two Stamford police officers helped save a woman's life by performing CPR while she was suffering a heart attack, according to the Stamford Police. The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when a 52-year-old woman stopped her vehicle on High Ridge Road after she began feeling sick, said Sgt. Kenneth Jarrett. She began calling for help and a nearby neighbor heard her cries and called 911, he said.
