Mother Of Four From Hudson Valley Shot Dead By Ex-Boyfriend At Restaurant Where She Worked A Hudson Valley native and mother of four was allegedly gunned down while at work by an ex-boyfriend. Rebecca Jean Rogers, age 38, who grew up in Orange County, and graduated from Goshen High School, was shot and killed Friday, April 16, while at her waitressing job at a Bob Evans Restaurant in Ohio, where she moved several years ago. Rogers' ex-boyfriend, Richard Nelson, age 54, of Canton, Ohio, walked into the restaurant, past the cash register, and down a hallway where he then allegedly shot Rogers multiple times before fleeing, Canton Police said. Standout Goshen, OCC Athlete Brett Verdicchio Dies At 39 Standout Orange County athlete Brett Anthony Verdicchio died on Jan. 7 in Del Ray Beach, Fla. He was 39 years old. Brett was born in Hackensack, N.J., and raised in Campbell Hall, N.Y. He shined on the Goshen High School football team and was a star pitcher for the Goshen baseball team.  Brett graduated from Goshen High School in 1997. After graduating from Orange County Community College and attended St. Francis University on a Division 1 baseball scholarship. He lived in Del Ray Beach for the past 10 years.
