19: Positive Case Leads To Early Dismissal At School In Mahopac, Number Of Cases Hits 11
Mahopac Schools Superintendent Anthony DiCarlo announced that an individual has tested positive for COVID-19 at the middle school, prompting emergency action after the number of cases in the district since September has reached 11. All First-Graders Released From Hospital After Ceiling Collapses
All students who were at the Madden Outdoor Education Center in Putnam County when a portion of the ceiling collapsed on Friday were released from Putnam Hospital Center by 3:30 p.m., said Ellen Lane, communications director of Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES. The students, first-graders from Fulmar Road Elementary School in Mahopac, were at Madden participating in a lesson on the food web when a portion of the ceiling gave way at 11:30 a.m. A teacher notified Mahopac Central School district and called 911.
