Skeletal Remains Found In Northern Westchester, State Police Say New York State Police and the Buchanan Police Department are investigating the discovery of skeletal remains. Investigators announced a property owner discovered a bone specimen that appeared to be human, police said. According to police, the initial investigation by New York State Police and the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office have tentatively identified the bones as a pig in origin. The final identification is pending the results of DNA testing, police noted. Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Northern Westchester This story has been updated. A male pedestrian was killed overnight after being struck by a vehicle in Northern Westchester. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 in Buchanan on Albany Post Road (Route 9A) between the railroad bridge and Bleakley Avenue near the Peekskill border. Officers from the Buchanan and Westchester County police departments, along with MTA Police, responded.
