22-Year-Old Man Charged With Sex Abuse, Attempted Rape In Bedford: Police A 22-year-old man was taken into custody in Northern Westchester and hit with sex abuse and attempted rape charges, police said.  Bedford Hills resident Luis Encarnacion Urrutia, age 22, was arrested on Wednesday, June 28 on sex abuse charges, according to Bedford Police.  Encarnacion Urrutia was charged with the following:  First-degree attempted rape; First-degree sexual abuse. Boy Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle Near School In Northern Westchester A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bike in Northern Westchester.  The incident took place around 7:22 p.m. Thursday, June 10 in Bedford Hills. The teen rode his bike into traffic without looking while coming from the area of the Bedford Hills Elementary School on Babbitt Road, said Bedford PD Lt. Jeff Gulick. Man Sentenced For Sexually Abusing Girl In Northern Westchester A 41-year-old Northern Westchester man will spend more than a decade behind bars and register as a sex offender after he admitted to sexually abusing a girl under the age of 13. Bedford Hills resident Julio Cortez was sentenced on Wednesday, Sept. 30 to 12 years in prison, followed by 15 years of post-release supervision after Cortez pleaded guilty in Westchester County Court to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child last year.
