It happened just before 3:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10 on Bear Mountain Bridge Road in the town of Cortlandt in the area of the scenic overlook. An initial investigation revealed a 2008 Honda motorcycle headed eastbound operated by Matthew J. Milicic Jr., age 66, of Newark Valley, New York in Tioga County, entered the westbound lane for unknown reasons and struck an oncoming 2020 Honda sedan, according to state police. Westchester County Man Charged With DUI Following Crash, State Police Say A Northern Westchester man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after losing control of his vehicle and hitting an embankment. Christopher Sweeting, age unavailable, of Yorktown, was arrested around 11 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 15 in Cortlandt, following the crash on Bear Mountain Bridge Road, said. Trooper AJ Hicks. Serious Crash Causes Bear Mountain Bridge Road Closure Bear Mountain Bridge Road was closed during part of the morning commute due to a crash with reported injuries in Cortlandt. The crash, which took place around 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, closed the road between Annsville Circle and the Bear Mountain Bridge, said New York State Trooper AJ Hicks. Hicks said the crash involved two vehicles and minor injuries. Tow trucks were on the scene, Hick said. "At least one of the vehicles crossed the double yellow on the curve in the road," he said. "It's a difficult spot to remove the injured and vehicles."

The crash happened around 3:25 p.m. Tuesday between the bridge overlook and Monteverde, said New York State Police. Traffic was limited to one lane following the crash.
