Man Accused Of Murdering Dog, Dismembering It In 'Disturbing' Westchester Animal Cruelty Case
A 39-year-old Connecticut man is facing felony charges after allegedly dismembering a dog that he took from its owner in Westchester, authorities said.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation that began on Friday, Dec. 6, when a 41-year-old New Rochelle man reported to police that his dog had been taken and killed by an acquaintance staying at his apartment, New Rochelle Police Captain J. Collins Coyne announced on Monday, Dec. 23.

Sale Of Dogs, Cats, Rabbits In Stores Banned In NY Pet Stores
In an effort to end the "puppy mill pipeline," New York has banned pet stores from selling dogs, cats, and rabbits.
The legislation, which was signed into law on Thursday, Dec. 15, will prohibit the sale of these animals in pet stores across the state and instead encourage them to make space available to show pets up for adoption, according to Assemblymember Linda B. Rosenthal, a Democrat who represents District 67 in Manhattan.

Westport Native Lori Susan Bigelow, Former Bigelow Tea Co-President, Dies In Wilton At 66
Lori Susan Bigelow, the retired co-president of the famed Bigelow Tea Company, has died at the age of 66.
Bigelow, who grew up in Westport, died Monday, Feb. 24, at her home in Wilton, her obituary said.
During her years in Westport, Bigelow fell in love with gymnastics. She then went on to Keene State College and was the captain of the team.
Several years after graduation, she joined the family firm and became renowned for her gift in creating some of the most flavorful and successful teas in the company's portfolio today, the obituary said.
