CROSS RIVER, N.Y. -- Ossining and John Jay-Cross River enter the 2011 season with high expectations.
Ossining is looking forward to show that the 2010 season was an aberration after posting an uncharacteristic two wins. Ossining has received an infusion of athletic seniors on the offensive side of the ball which will expand its capabilities.
Senior and quarterback Brian Connolly is the recipient of this. The left-hander will aim to spread the ball out and go vertical with the passing game.
John Jay wants to take it further this season, after a first-round loss to Harrison in the 2010 Section 1 Class A Championship. Halfback Danny Caiola will highlight the John Jay offense. Caiola had a break-out game last year in the bowl victory over Nyack. Jeremy OReilly (slot back) and Declan Myer (split end) will also be key players on offense.
