Man Nabbed For Alleged Dwai/Drugs Following Traffic Stop In Northern Westchester

A 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs after police were notified of an unsafe driver.

Michael Vazquez, of Yorktown, was arrested around 2:40 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, after he was spotted driving erratically by an off duty officer who reported the incident, the Yorktown Police said.

During the stop on East Main Street, an investigation revealed Vazquez was allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, police said.

During a search, officers allegedly found Vazquez was in possession of a quantity of heroin, clonazepam, and a hypodermic instrument, police added.

He was charged with DWAI/Drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic instrument, and failure to maintain lane.

Vazquez was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 2, 2020.
