Wind Advisory: Strong Gusts Up To 50 MPH Could Cause Power Outages The first day of the new year has sprung with breezy conditions more typical of the early spring than early winter. New Year's Day has started with milder temperatures after the mercury climbed above the 50-degree mark overnight. But the temperature will drop during the afternoon, falling to the low-40s, after clouds give way to sunshine.  A Wind Advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1.
