Andrew Cuomo granted clemency to six people on his way out of office in Albany, drawing a backlash. Cuomo, whose resignation officially took effect as of 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, commuted the sentences of four people, referred one case to the parole board, and gave another a full pardon during his final hours in office. Police Investigate Apparent Noose Found In Westchester Park The Ossining Police Department is investigating an apparent noose that was found at a popular local park. The village issued an update at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2 after becoming aware of a string hanging from a tree in Louis Engel Waterfront Park that appeared to be tied in a noose. Ossining Mayor Victoria Gearity said that police immediately began an investigation and the chief has met with members of the local clergy and NAACP.
