ID Released For Woman Who Died In Westchester Basement Apartment Fire Police have released the name of the woman who died when a basement apartment broke out on Tuesday morning. First responders were dispatched to a Park Avenue residence at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, when a neighbor saw smoke coming from a basement apartment and called the fire department. Deputy Fire Chief Daniel Flynn said that one resident in the building was able to open the door to the basement apartment in an effort to assist an elderly resident, though he was pushed back by heavy smoke and unable to reach her.
