A vehicle blaze that went up on a residential street in Northern Westchester was stopped from damaging nearby homes thanks to quick efforts from firefighters. A bakery that has served its Westchester community for more than eight decades is now asking for help in recovering from a devastating fire that forced it to close. A home was damaged by a gas grill fire in Northern Westchester. The blaze broke out around 7:51 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, on Hayes Drive in Yorktown Heights. Three firefighters were injured battling a blaze in a Westchester home filled with clutter and junk. The fire took place around 3:56 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at a single-family home located on the 100 block of Scott Avenue in Yonkers, said Deputy Chief Joseph Citrone. Three police officers suffered injuries as they helped rescue residents when a fire broke out in a Westchester apartment building.
