Cerone is currently being studied at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, as he was diagnosed two years ago with a rare genetic disease that affects five in a million people.

The transplant is needed immediately so he can continue his career and avoid going on dialysis.

Cerone's brothers are being tested to see if there's a match, but there is a fear that they may also have the same genetic condition.

His family has set up a GoFundMe account for donations, and those interested in donating a kidney can contact Jennifer Van Beaver at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital by calling (212)-305-6469.
