The diaper bank, launched in November 2014, is a partnership between the Junior League of Central Westchester, County Executive Rob Astorino and the Department of Social Services.

The Food Bank for Westchester has agreed to warehouse these diapers, given the size of the donation.

"This is an example of the good things we can accomplish when we work together on behalf of the people of Westchester County," Astorino said. "I want to thank our tremendous partners at the Junior League of Central Westchester and the Food Bank for Westchester."

During the first year, the diaper bank distributed 150,600 diapers -- 3,012 packages -- to local families in need. That averages out to 274 packages monthly. They were all procured through donations, community drives and corporate sponsorships.

"The Junior League of Central Westchester is so appreciative of the incredible donation of 90,000 diapers from Huggies," JLCW President Alison Messerle said.

"We are fortunate for our continued partnership with the county and the Department of Social Services, and our new relationship with the Food Bank. Together our effort to serve those in need in Westchester County is even stronger."
