Time Cites Tarrytown-Greenburgh As One Of Nation's 'Most Genius Places'

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- In 1994 former Governor Mario Cuomo attended a press conference at Greenburgh Town Hall and lauded the town for its work in helping CIBA, a multi-national pharmaceuticals company, stay in town. Today, the 287 Corridor between Greenburgh and Tarrytown has been named one of the brightest in the country, according to Times Magazine, where the municipality was ranked 40th.

"Since that time we have tried hard to attract many additional bio tech companies to Greenburgh," said Town Supervisor Paul Feiner. "We’ve been successful by creating two major bio tech corridors in the unincorporated section of Greenburgh: Tarrytown and south of downtown Ardsley. Greenburgh has become the bio tech capital of our region and we’re proud of that distinction," he said.

Regeneron, on of the major bio tech companies located in the unincorporated Greenburgh section of Tarrytown, has become one of the leading bio tech companies in the world. The company's growth has resulted in the planning of a significant expansion in Greenburgh this coming year.
