Sustainable Westchester Holds Inaugural Board Of Directors Meeting

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – Sustainable Westchester, a new countywide non-profit group working on sustainability issues, recently held the first meeting of its newly elected board of directors at Greenburgh Town Hall.

Representatives of 40 Westchester County municipalities, including mayors of three of the county’s five cities and two town supervisors, discussed a variety of organizational matters during the Dec. 22 meeting, according to a press release.

The board also authorized a submission to the Public Service Commission requesting permission to move forward on a plan for municipal energy aggregation.

“Working together, our local governments will be able to negotiate rates with utilities, saving money and providing price stability for their residents and small businesses,” said Michael Gordon, chief executive officer of Joule Assets and a board member, in a press release.
