Police: Former Greenburgh Court Clerk Stole $200

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – A former Greenburgh Town Court clerk was charged after allegedly stealing $200 in fines paid to the court, according to police.

Kisha McLemore, 41, of Peekskill was charged Tuesday with petit larceny, tampering with public records and two counts of official misconduct, all misdemeanors.

McLemore was employed by the Greenburgh Town Court for roughly one year as a court clerk where she was responsible for monitoring Vehicle and Traffic and Town Ordinance violations.

Greenburgh Police said she stole $200 that was made in payment for a fine. In an attempt to conceal the theft, police said McLemore tampered with and removed court records.

The arrest stems from a month-long investigation conducted between Greenburgh Detectives and members of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Public Integrity Unit, police said. 

McLemore has since been terminated from her position as court clerk and was arraigned in Greenburgh Town Court Tuesday before she was released on her own recognizance.
