Latka, a Persian blend, ‘odd-eyed’ cat, with "David Bowie-like" eyes, was recently surrendered with two of his housemates by his former owner, officials with Paws Crossed said.
When he arrived at the animal rescue, his hair was horribly matted and he had to be shaved. He was also very stressed and not eating well. A visit to the vet turned up a small heart murmur.
“There is just so much to love about this handsome boy. He is definitely a staff and volunteer favorite,” said Jennifer Angelucci, president/CEO of Paws Crossed. “When he first came to us, he was so scared, uncomfortable with the debilitating matted fur and medical issues, and so unsure of a new environment and us. Now, he is still shy but will slowly approach and then is a full-on purr machine. Don’t let his heart murmur scare you. He does not require any medication at this time, and may never. All he requires is some extra attention and monitoring.”

Angelucci said all he requires is a good lap and a kind hand.
