Pets Alive had shut down the former Elmsford animal shelter in September of last year. The shelter has a group of volunteers and supporters and is the only truly no kill animal shelter in the region. "I'm thrilled to highlight this very happy ending," said Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
Hundreds of animal rights advocates were devastated when the shelter closed last year. Instrumental in the process of securing the property were Town Board members Francis Sheehan, Ken Jones, Diana Juettner and Kevin Morgan.
