The proposed facility will be 116,725 square feet and include two gymnasiums, a natatorium, eight squash courts, a wrestling room, a fencing room, and an indoor track on their property in the unincorporated section of Greenburgh. In order to proceed, the school first needs permission from the Town Board.

At the Jan. 28, Town Board meeting, the attorney for the applicant confirmed that they will also pay for and construct a 1,700 ft. sidewalk -- about a third of a mile -- that will enable pedestrians to walk from Route 119 to the Castle. The proposed project comes after an 850 square foot sidewalk was built on Route 119 and Benedict Avenue last year, as part of the Brightview Senior Living Facility. Stop & Shop also complied with a condition and built a 1,600 foot sidewalk on part of Benedict.
