Greenburgh School Taxes Due End Of Month

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- For Greenburgh residents, the second half of the taxes are due a week from today on Monday Feb. 1. The tax department at Town Hall will be open till 7 p..m on Monday.

The second half of school tax bills are traditionally due on Jan, 31, however this yearJan. 31 falls on a Sunday, giving those who file an extra day.

Residents can pay their taxes online by following the info in the link below and can pay via credit card, with a small fee.

According to Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, the town acts as a collector of taxes for the school districts but we have no control over how much the school taxes are. "School districts are independent of the town government," said Feiner. "Voters have the opportunity to vote on school budgets each year. The town guarantees the school districts 100 percent of the taxes owed to them, whether you pay the school taxes or not."

School taxes are paid twice during the year -- in September and in January and can be done online here
