Thanks to the town's new cable access website, an archive of past programming is available on demand for viewers. George Malone, Greenburgh's cable TV access coordinator and Janelle Wallace, the assistant coordinator, have been working to develop this new innovation that will allow people from around the world to watch local shows.
The town also plans to upload video specials on the site throughout the year, and will include 'Live Board Meetings' in the archive. Within the next few months, all 150 'Living History' videos profiling local veterans will be uploaded, and become a a permanent feature of the site.
"Anyone in our town can host their own TV program which airs on public access cable TV program during the month," said Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
Programs are filmed and produced by local residents. The town provides area residents with the studio, TV cameras and video. All hosts need to do is show up and speak their mind. The cost for residents to produce a show is free of charge.
Those interested in hosting their own show should email pfeiner@greenburghny.com.
