Coming To You Live: Greenburgh Student Reporters Featured On Wcbs 880

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- For three Greenburgh students, getting behind the microphone is as easy as can be. In honor of Martin Luther King's birthday, WCBS Radio 880 aired a story showcasing Greenburgh's Xposure after school program and the student-run radio station.

Students in Greenburgh's Xposure program were the subjects of a segment on WCBS 880 which highlighted their after school radio and television program.

11 year-old students Harshita Shet, Sydney Jackson and Adrianna Murrel were interviewed by WCBS reporter Sean Adams, and they discussed the interview techniques the students used when interviewing public officials, school leaders and people in the community.

These student reporters, who currently are 6th graders in the Greenburgh school system, conducted research before each interview and then came up with breaking news stories. The broadcast is then produced out out of the Greenburgh Town Hall.

"That’s what our after school program is all about, giving students the chance to learn skills early on," said Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
